We have classes to suit all abilities.
We hope that by attending and enjoying our classes, all members will feel sufficiently confident to attend our social dances and our Annual Ball and that with growing experience they will be inspired to attend Scottish Country dancing events held by other local clubs. The RSCDS Summer School held annually in St Andrews and dancing weekends held all over the UK and abroad are also attractive possibilities.
All our classes are led by RSCDS qualified teachers.
Our Open Events are an ideal opportunity to meet us and have a go.
New to Scottish Country Dancing
Do you want to join in the fun?
Come to our weekly beginner's classes, wearing soft shoes and bringing a bottle of water (no partner or kilt required). As you have fun working out how each dance goes, we will provide hints and tips on how to do the various formations and improve your footwork. Alternate weeks have different flavours. One week will be two hours long where you will be dancing with other beginners. The other week will be one hour long with other club members. Stay on after the interval to cheer on club dancers as they tackle some more difficult dances.
''I joined Scottish Country Dancing because I wanted to do some light exercise and also improve my memory. What I didn't know was how much fun it would be, how much I would laugh every week and how warm and welcoming everyone would be'' Lesley
''Mary and I love Monday evenings. Nobody is left behind; the class goes along at exactly the right pace to make sure everyone is included'' Pete
''It is such a pleasure to attend with such a great group of people. It is the highlight of the week'' Jean
