We have classes to suit all abilities.
We hope that by attending and enjoying our classes, all members will feel sufficiently confident to attend our social dances and our Annual Ball and that with growing experience they will be inspired to attend Scottish Country dancing events held by other local clubs. The RSCDS Summer School held annually in St Andrews and dancing weekends held all over the UK and abroad are also attractive possibilities.
All our classes are led by RSCDS qualified teachers.
Our Open Events are an ideal opportunity to meet us and have a go.
New to Scottish Country Dancing
We have a dedicated beginners’ session every fortnight which introduces new dancers to the steps and basic formations. This class is also suitable for dancers who feel they require a refresher course.
When Beginners feel able, they are encouraged to join the main Club Night when there is no dedicated Beginners session. There is an opportunity for all dancers to meet together each week during the break.
What do I need: Just soft shoes and a bottle of water. You don’t need a partner, special shoes or a kilt.
We can offer advice on the various styles of dancing shoes available.
